A native of Northern Virginia, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame, and graduated with her medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in 2012.

Before joining Einstein Pediatrics in 2018, Dr. Segura completed her residency in pediatrics at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and practiced as a Primary Care Pediatrician for three years at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). In her role as an attending pediatrician at CHOP, she taught the University of Pennsylvania medical students and CHOP pediatrics residents during their primary care pediatrics rotations.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), the doctor is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Recognized as a "Top Doctor" in Washingtonian Magazine, she mentors and teaches new pediatricians undergoing training at INOVA Children's Hospital.
